Pooter-Bootys.

Lately I've been missing Roxy quite a bit. This will be our first Christmas since we got her in '96 without her. I think I've missed her more than normal lately because we just recently got a new dog named Rilee and it's hard to adjust to it. It's only about a year old and it's been a bit obnoxious because it isn't trained and gives you an "idiot" sort of look if you tell it no. Anyway, it just makes me miss Roxy more because you wish that new dog was like your old dog... and that just doesn't happen. I think there is a saying that you can't replace a well-trained dog, or the best dog; something along those lines, and I think the saying is right. It's funny how much of an impact a dog can make on your life, and how you really don't realize it until they are gone that they're just as important as a person in some ways. Sometimes my Dad slips up and calls our dog Rachel by Roxy's nicknames and I tell him that there was only one Pooters and she's watching over us from dog heaven now. I believe in reincarnation, and I hope one day I have a dog just like Roxy, if not her in another dog's body. I just wish Roxy didn't have to grow old so quickly and she was still with us today, even if in her last years she was a grouchy poochie. I tell Fitz that he would have loved Roxy in her young days; he only knew her in her old days and didn't attach to her that much because of her stinky potty butt and her grouchiness. He has a lab named Max who is fat and lazy, but has a quirky personality like Roxy did when she was younger so he reminds me of her. Someday I will have a dog just like Roxy, but until then, Max and me will "shake it up" together and dance in Roxy's memory. In honor of the holidays, here's a favorite Santa Poochies picture of Roxy.

JACK3D INSANITY.

Today I finally went to GNC and bought myself OxyELITE Pro and JACK3D to boost my workout. I started month two of Insanity again (took a week off... boo slacker!) and I am amazed at the increase in my workout performance! Usually I take quite a bit of quick breaks during my insanity workout, but with JACK3D I hardly took any (just a quick breather if anything) and I was able to do certain workout moves that normally I wasn't able to do. It seemed as if I was gliding through today's workout, which usually is a pretty tough workout. I also tried OxyELITE today, and I noticed I had more energy (not jittery) and I wasn't hungry every ten seconds. I've tried other dietary supplement products before like Hydroxycut, and while I thought that curved my appetite, OxyELITE Pro does an even better job. Hydroxycut made me jittery too, where OxyELITE doesn't. I know it's only my first day, but I'm thinking I'm going to have a good relationship with these two. Look out Shaun T... you're not going to be the only one smiling because they love it.

Maybe it's a migraine.

I went to the doctor yesterday in complaints of a severe pain above my right eye (left if you're looking at me), sudden chest pressure, and shortness of breathe. (Not to mention vengeful pink eye, but that's another story...) Needless to say, my doctor told me she could not find anything wrong with me, they did blood work... but it's not a sinus infection, which my mom and boyfriend originally thought it could be. In the end, she prescribed me some medicine that they use to treat migraines (because I'm showing symptoms of a possible migraine... but we're not 100% sure quite yet) and if this medicine works then I have my answer. If it doesn't work, then I have to come back in (especially if this is happening every day) and then we get to go through a slue of who knows what (testing of some sort, I'm sure.)

Basically I think it was a waste of $32 dollars, especially since I had to pay extra since the insurance company for some reason did not cover the pregnancy test (they've never charged me for that..) when I went in for my pap and depo my last visit. I hate going to the doctor, only to have them tell me "they can't find anything wrong." Let's just hope this migraine medicine works, I don't feel like being poked and prodded if it doesn't.

Alter Asian.

If I were to suddenly become an anime character, I think I would look something similar to this. Anime artists, take note. かわいい!

Arizona Wildcats.

Tucson, Arizona: The entire student body is erupting with excitement as the clock counts down, second by second, in the fourth quarter of their homecoming game against UCLA... undefeated UCLA, and the scoreboard reads 52-14, Arizona. The stadium is an earthquake of voices roaring like wildcats as we celebrate our enormous win. Students begin to madly run onto the field in overwhelming excitement to congratulate the players and coaches. Some decide they're going to fulfill their cardboard promises, and strip their clothing and run across the field in their birthday suits. Others are hoisted onto the shoulders of the players, shouting at the top of their lungs in victory. Most gather around the field goal, and begin to shimmy up each side, throwing their fists into the air, and letting out victory cries: Bear Down, Arizona. Bear Down, Red and Blue. Go! Go! Wildcats, go! Arizona, Bear Down!

Yoshi's.

I've decided this halloween I'm going to be a yoshi. I think as much as I love all the colorful yoshis, I'll probably stick with the original green yoshi. I'll probably just end up getting a green dress with some green tights, get something red I can use as a shell for my back, some green fabric for a tail, and then do the red spikes out of fabric of some sort. I can rock some red tennis shoes too. I think the final outcome is going to be pretty awesome, at least what I'm imagining in my head looks really cool at least. I figure since I was a pikachu for halloween already, I might as well keep up the Japanese theme!

Winter Poochies.

This is Roxy. Roxy loved the winter and she loved the snow. She would run around in our backyard and she would eat snow, always looking up with a snowy nose. You could always tell where she had been because her belly left a line in the snow. Here she is wearing my Dad's Jackson Hole winter hat. One thing Roxy was good about is letting you dress her in ridiculous clothing, no matter what, she didn't mind (except for the time we put her in a diaper for her potty butt and she decided to poop in it to let us know her dislike of the diaper, but completely missed the diaper and landed on the floor..) Kristin and I took Roxy to my dad and he wasn't too happy that she was parading around with "his" hat on, "That's my hat... why's she got my hat on?" Even though Roxy is not with us anymore, I know she's up in doggie heaven (because we all know that ALL dogs go to heaven, if you didn't, you need to rent the movie!!) and she's running around happily wearing all of the ridiculous outfits we used to dress her in, parading around in the snow. This winter isn't going to be the same with her missing, but I know she'll be watching us from above. Maybe she'll make an appearance and leave belly trails in our snowy backyard, just to let us know she'll always be with us...

Green Monstah.

Seats on the Green Monster are this-a-way. If you're lucky enough to get into a game at Fenway, you have to be outrageously luckier to score a seat on the famous Green Monster. Three years ago I did get fairly lucky, and after my dad chatted with the usher, he showed us the way to the Green Monster. We didn't get to sit there for long, but we got to actually be on the Green Monster, and that was good enough for me. So I can say that I've sat on the Green Monster during a game at Fenway, not once, but twice (Fitz and I went back the following year on a 'Fenway Tour.') If that's not enough to make you turn green with envy, you're probably not a baseball fan.

Deck Stories.

Happy Adventure, Newfoundland, on the Moss' deck overlooking the bay is absolutely breathtaking. Sharing stories and laughs with Geoff and Donna and my two Uncles on a beautiful Newfie night. I wish I could have gone back these last two summers to work with them again in Happy Adventure as Tokai's tech. I long to return to the Happy House in Happy Adventure...

And so it begins.

I'm not 100% sure where this picture was taken, but I know I was with my church youth group (Renaissance Teens) and it was either in Santa Fe, New Mexico or Jackson Hole, Wyoming. What I dod remember is thinking how dreary the landscape was because there had been a wildfire that had eliminated everything. I also remember after I took the picture and looked at it, I was in awe by the sunlight breaking through the trees. It's amazing what a little sunshine can do.

Lost adventures

It's been quite some time since I've blogged; to be honest with you, I think I've actually gone as far as gotten rid of the majority of any blog I've ever had (with the exception of my livejournal account, which hasn't been updated in about five years now...) which is a shame. Writing has always been therapeutic for me and the fact that I've gone from writing up a storm to hardly at all has driven me back here. When I was at my best, I was constantly blogging about every sort of thing, which I think allowed my train of thought to run on its tracks to all sorts of imaginative, creative places, which in turn helped me produce magnificent pieces of literature. So now here I am, once again, ready for adventures.

So let's begin.
